How long is it safe to store contact lenses in Bausch and Lomb’s ReNu MultiPlus Solution?
The Bausch and Lomb website says that it is safe to store contacts in the case for 30 days, but I think I’ve kept them in there longer. I haven’t taken them out at all or disturbed them. Would it still be alright to wear them? If not, what can I do to make them “wearable” besides getting a new pair?
Put in some new solution and let them sit for 8 hours again before you wear them, just to be safe.
Examine the inside of the case lid and the contacts to make sure there are no black spots forming in there. If you see any, throw the contacts out.
30 days is pretty generous. After every 10 days, you should replace the solution with fresh solution. Let them soak for 6 hours. If you open the case and the lenses are dried out, resoak for 24 hours. If the lenses or case are moldy, get a new pair.
