Don’t blame the solution. Blame yourself for using it incorrectly. Don’t touch your eyes or your contacts unless you have scrubbed your hands from any trace of irritant and allergens. Even then, don’t touch your eyes more than you absolutely have to.
Symptoms are different for the kind of infection. If you have conjunctivitis, or pink eye, it’s an inflammation of the entire cornea (the outer surface of the eyeball). The symptoms are redness, itchiness, blurred vision, and a real sign of infection is mucus in your eyes. If you have yellow goop in your eyes, or wake up with dunes of sand in your eye.
Treatment is an antibiotic administered in eyedrop form. From now on, you have to be perfectly clean with your contacts and clean about how to touch them and your eyes. Once you had this infection, it comes back easily. Break the cycle now and be clean about your contacts.
