Extended Wear Contact Lenses – is there any difference between Ciba Vision Air Optix & B&L Purevision?
The Air Optix are twice the price and I’m wondering if they are better or just more expensive that the Purevision?

They are both very good lenses… very breathable. Different lenses work for different people. Best thing to do would be to get trail pairs before purchasing. I had worn both types. For me, air optix is a more comfortable fit. Good luck!
i work in an opticians and the majority of people that we fit with contacts for extended wear prefer the ciba vision air otix a lot of people think that the purevision are a lot thicker than air optix and they are not as comfortable.
out of these two lenses the best would be air optix. they are both ok lenses but most people find that the purevision lenses tend to feel dryer in thier eyes than air optix. the best lens for extended wear is Acuvue Oasys. Its much thinner and far more moist than the two you have mentioned. Whenever I fit my patients with extended wear lenses I give them a trial of all these lenses and nearly all my patients have chosen the Oasys lens for its superior comfort. Oasys is replaced more frequently so its also healthier for your eyes.
